Bad relationship with husband

Am I supposed to forgive and forget what happened because he's been trying and behaving better?

I just can't move forward. Bad memories always come back to me and I can't forgive him and forget about it.

He was mean to me.

He gambles.

He has debt.

He hit me.

He lies.

He says house work and caring child are 100 % my job. Because he works full time and pays all the bills.

Every time he does something nice, he expects something back.

He did nothing on mother's Day, and he asked me if I planned something for him.

He told me I had to pay for all my personal stuff. Because I have savings. My whole life savings. I saved because he gambles and has debt.

I haven't worked for four years.  I've been paying my phone bills, private health insurance, transportation, clothes, shoes, cosmetic,,,,.

I don't work ,I get no superannuation.

I get no Centrelink payment. He gets them.

I got no alone time and had free time on my own.

I'm tired. Repeating same things again and again.

I can't forget.

You can do what you want @Soj , It's your only life that you are living and if you don't want to make your life different, you can.

If you want to give him a chance, maybe insist on relationship counselling, but I have to ask, do you still love him?

Re: Bad relationship with husband

Hey @Soj It very much sounds like you are in an abusive relationship and all control is being taken away from you. I would highly recommend contacting 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). They are a domestic violence counselling, support and information service. You do not have to put up with any of this and deserve so much better. 😔
