Community Manager

Wellbeing Break for SANE Australia from the 22nd September - 27th of September 2021

Hi Forums Community  👋


It's been a tough 18 months for everyone since COVID-19 became part of our lives.  


The impact has seen demand for our services double. And while our team has delivered outstanding support to thousands of people during this time, we too are feeling the impacts. 


As a mental health organisation, it's important that we look after our team, so that we can provide the best support for you too! 


Therefore, the SANE team is taking a wellbeing break to rest and recharge. 


We will be closed from this Wednesday the 22nd of September, with our support services reopening at 10am AEST Monday 27 September.  


During this time, the forums will operate as usual 😊 


Here is everything you need to know: 


The SANE Forums will operate 24/7 as normal  

We will be operating as usual with the forums moderated 24/7 by our after hours team who are trained health professionals. If you have any questions or concerns about the forums, please feel free to get in touch with the team at  or tag @ Moderator. 


Our Community Managers will be taking a break, so it may take us longer than usual to respond to questions about your forums account or enquiries. We will be returning on Monday 27th September.  


The SANE Help Centre is taking a break 

The SANE Help Centre will be taking a break during this time, including our phone call, webchat and email counselling services.  


If you use the SANE Help Centre and would like to ask about referrals to use during the wellbeing break, please see some of the services available below.  


The SANE One to one peer support services are taking a break 

The SANE Peer Support services including the webchat, book a call and email will be taking a break.  


Our peer support workers will be using the next two days to discuss support networks and referral pathways with our regular service users.  


Online Peer Groups 

Online Peer Groups are also paused for this week, resuming the following fortnight. Keep an eye out for more information about out next Online Peer Group topic.  


TL, DR? 

  • SANE is taking a wellbeing break from Wednesday the 22nd of September 2021. All services will resume Monday the 27th of September. 
  • During this time, the SANE Forums will remain open and will operate as usual with 24/7 Moderation. 
  • All Counselling Help Centre, One-to-one Peer Support, and Online Peer Groups will be taking a break during this time. 
  • Help is still available and a list of services, including urgent and crisis support.
