Yeah I like to think we are equals @MDT and I can definitely relate to you as well.
some of the things you are going through and have definitely resonate with me.
im hoping I can make more friends irl. My current two friends don’t really connect. I’m doing meet up groups now which is good. Want to turn my life around completely. Though I’m comfortable even though I don’t find anybody, although fingers crossed

Hi there @Former-Member medicines can be difficult. In full disclosure I went off my meds once and deeply regretted it. I was doing well and thought I had recovered so I wound up in hospital then got put on what was called a CTO (Community Treatment Order) where you have to show up to a clinic to take an injectable form of depot medicine.
The CTO was lifted after I was able to demonstrate insight into my illness at a tribunal. I have since stayed on my meds for the past 20 years and its kept me reasonably stable. I have schizoaffective disorder.
I was told by doctors that you can become medicine resistant if you keep coming off your meds and the meds stop working for you. I don't wish to scare you but I have seen some very desperate cases where people with mental illness get refused treatment from psychiatrists because they are too risky to treat. They should never have come off their medicines.
My meds have worked ok, yes I have had minor relapses but you can get put on added medication if need be. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just keep taking your meds and seeing your shrink. They know how to increase meds if need be or put you on a new medication.
All I'm saying is be conservative and hedge your bets so you can hold down your job and live somewhat of a normal life. I've tried all sorts of meds, because many of them had awful side effects but I'm on one now which has limited side effects such as weight gain, weakness and potential diabetes. I can always go back to other ones if need be, the other people who have come off their meds have no options.
So there are options, the psychiatrist can increase the dosage or add meds or switch you to another medicine entirely. Its nothing new. You will be ok, its all part of the process ❤️

I’ve got a relaxing afternoon planned at home just taking things easy as I’m recovering from a small bout of sinusitis that has just come on recently. I may do some knitting of one of my blankets if I feel like it.
Take care!

I don't drink normally as alcohol doesn't agree with me @Former-Member it also diminishes the effects of your medication. I may have had a glass of port wine once in a while but it left me feeling yuk so I don't keep alcohol in the house. I believe alcohol makes your mental health worse which is why I don't drink it. My grandfather was an alcoholic and used to beat my Dad and my uncles. So I have not had good experience of alcohol drinkers in the family.
