Re: Struggling through COVID and pregnancy
Hi @Losingit
I can completely relate to your fears about illness while you're pregnant. Being pregnant is challenging enough without the added weight of a global pandemic. When I was pregnant (many years ago now!) I would stress so much about staying well. Our hormones go through a massive shift which can greatly affect our emotions. Some people are more sensitive to these hormonal changes than others too. I am one of those, as I found with each of my pregnancies and then when I hit perimenopause in my 40s.
As others have said, just try to stay as safe as you can. I know it's easy to jump to conclusions about being one of those people who will be affected badly by covid if you get it. Staying away from the news can help and only tuning in for a short time so you know what's going on. The 24-hr news cycle can be brutal for our mental health.
Anyway, hang in there, take each day as it comes and try concentrating on what you CAN control , not what you can't.

Re: Struggling through COVID and pregnancy
Hi @Losingit
My friend in America got Covid while she was around 20 weeks pregnant. She went to the hospital about three times because she was pretty sick. Her midwife started a Covid protocol with her when her hubby tested positive. She had a couple of extra scans after to check on bub and thinks look normal. She is due in a couple of weeks from now but so far so good. So I guess I am saying that even if you do get it as long as you look after yourself you and baby should be fine! Stress will make you more susceptible as it lowers the immune system. So take some deep breath’s and try as hard as you can to relax. Eat healthy and drink water. Good luck, I hope that you don’t get it. It’s not a for sure thing. My son has it right now and so far his girlfriend, who he is staying with, hasn’t gotten it. Please try and relax, maybe try some meditations.

Re: Struggling through COVID and pregnancy
Thanks @Oaktree
I try to tell myself that countless other women have been through the same thing of covid and pregnancy and have survived (and hopefully thrived) to tell us about it. It’s reassuring to hear that even with 3 hospital admissions things can hopefully work out. I just want bloody covid to be over!! For a chronic anxiety sufferer (whose main trigger is health concerns) it’s pushing me right to the very brink
