Goodnight sweet @Former-Member 🌻❤💖

Re: not coping

Morning (almost afternoon) everyone

the gastroenterologist that I was referred to is nice and seems to care more about his patients then $ which is a rare find. he is very concerned about the recent findings and my symptoms and has ordered an urgent MRI scan for both my pancreas and liver (because of the changes and a cyst looking thing on that as well that the dr failed to tell me about) and wants to have a gastroscopy done asap.

He brought up that I wasn't on health insurance and said that what he will do is put in the referral to the public hospital (which is across the road from his surgery) to have it done there so it wont cost me anything. he said the 2 main downfalls are the wait times which are 3-6 months (but he is putting in the referral as urgent to try and speed things up to hopefully only a few weeks wait) and that I wont get a choice in the gastroenterologist who does it however if he is working in that hospital (he works their on a rationational basis) he is going to see if he can do it but trusts his work collegues and said I can trust them.

I said I tried to get health insurance so that I could get it done within the 1-2 weeks with him but because this what they are classing as pre-existing I couldn't- his words were 'yeah they can be bloody idiots when it comes to these things and honestly doesn't think some of their guidelines are the right way to go about things'

because the paperworks cant be sent through emails they either had to be sent via mail or I could come in there. he said am I able to come in and I said yes he said that is good because he wants these referrals in urgently but with the post it can take 2 weeks to even get there. so on Monday I need to go into his clinic, fill in the papers that he needs then I can hand them back in, I can pick up the mri scan and also get the referrals to the public hospital and literally walk across the road and hand them in as well.

We went through the risks of the mri, the gastroscopy and how to fill in the papers properly as well.

He said that If my results come back urgent and that I will need hospitalisation for any reason he will admit me into the public system but under his name so I will have him as my specialist still and wont have much to pay if anything at all.

I think that's all of it...

@Former-Member@Snowie@Former-Member@Lee82@Sans911@Faith-and-Hope@eth@Eve7@NatureLover @Maggie  and everyone.. im super sorry if ive missed you

Re: not coping

Hey @outlander   sounds like the new Dr is really on the ball and has your best interests foremost in his approach - both physically and financially - which hopefully will ease things for you mentally as well.  Sending warmest wishes xx

Re: not coping

Wow @outlander  that all sounds really positive and promising hun. How you feeling about all that now?

Re: not coping

Ohhh @outlander that is such good news. Finally someone who will listen and then act in your best interests. It must be such a relief to know now that any treatment or procedures you need will be covered under the public system. No loan needed. Yay 🎉

Although it sounds as though your gastroenterologist has a few concerns from your earlier CT scans, it appears you are in good hands.

Very pleased and relieved to hear this news Li'l One.

Re: not coping

@outlander  What a relief. This Dr sounds really good, very understanding and caring. You so need relief from some of the major pain you are going through.

Monday will be a big day for you. I hope this has eased you mind a little.

Take care đź’žđź’žđź’ž

Re: not coping

I'm so pleased to hear all this, @outlander !  I'm really glad the gastroscopy won't cost you anything, yay! And that he seems so caring 🙂

I hope the gastroscopy won't take long, just a few weeks.

How do you feel about it all?

Re: not coping

I found this the other day @outlander . It reminded me of you. You are such a treasure here on the forums. Compliments are hard to take, but needed all the same.

@Maggie , that's great 🙂

I second what Maggie said, @outlander .
